August 13, 2011 Annual Picnic
Moore Tea Citizens held our Second Annual Picnic at Cannon Park. In spite of torrential rains ― 4½ inches of rain in 2 hours! ― everyone had a great time. We had around 300 seasoned Tea Party Troopers who would not allow a bit of rain to spoil a fantastic gathering! We're used to fighting against hardships and resistance, so the weather was simply good practice!
We signed up 34 new members, received a generous amount of donations to the cause, and had a wonderful time. Sheriff Dever, Judson Phillips, and all of our speakers were fantastic. We sang "We Ain't Goin' Away", the theme song and name of our picnic. The composer and super performer, Bruce Bellott, also introduced his new song, "Obama, You're Fired".
Our beloved leader, Dee Park, received a very special award for her service and contributions from Civitas - "Citizen of the Month".
What a great day!
