Richard Hudson's Reception Invitation
We have learned how important it is to properly vet our candidates.  How many times have we been fooled by slick professional politicians who betray conservative and Constitutional principles once we elect them, seeking instead to enhance their own personal power and gain above all else?

And, how many times will we allow the national party establishment and Washington lobbies to hand-pick candidates during the primary "for us"?  I am tired of the Washington meddling.

Well, they're at it again.  We the People NC have written a great article exposing a candidate who suddenly appeared in NC Congressional District 8.  Their article, "It Pays To Be a Former Staffer", exposes the origins, backers, and connections of this new candidate, Richard Hudson.  It's a must read for the good voters of the 8th Congressional District!

But there's a bit more to the story.  From what we have learned, Mr. Hudson, was assigned by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) to find a candidate to run in the 8th who would be "acceptable" to the Washington establishment.  So Mr. Hudson dutifully conducted a candidate search.  But, finding no additional candidates to run against those already registered in the primaries, the NRCC Recruitment Chair, Steve Scalise, informed Mr. Hudson that he, Mr. Hudson, would be the NRCC chosen candidate for the 8th District!

There are already several candidates registered and campaigning in the 8th District, including a great conservative candidate who stands rock solid for Constitutionally conservative principles and who is not beholden to any special interest lobbyists, unions, party elites and the like.  That candidate is Vernon Robinson.  But Mr. Robinson, precisely because he does not have those Washington connections, is unacceptable to the party elites and K-Street crowd.  They need someone who can be manipulated, who will support their interests and agendas.  So, from the top down, now comes another anointed one to protect the Washington insiders.  Mr. Hudson announced his candidacy in Washington at a party for lobbyists and elites ― he did not make his candidacy known directly to the good voters of the 8th.  Not an auspicious beginning for the reforms and restoration so needed at this moment in history.

So we now have a drama openly at play in the 8th.  It appears the primary race will come down to two dramatically different choices:  On one hand we have a hand-picked, well-funded, Washington insider with close connections to lots of special interest groups.  On the other hand we have an honest, principled, uncorrupted conservative who will stand for and on Constitutional principles.  The outcome will reveal much about the electorate in the 8th Congressional District.
