_The Moore County Land Use Committee has been dominated by special interests for most of its ten year life, most troublesome of which have been those pushing environmentalist and closely-related Agenda for the 21st Century (Agenda 21) goals.  Recently the Moore County Board of Commissioners began a commendable effort to broaden the representation and views on this body.  I hope that the effort will truly balance the interests represented and begin to shed light into the goals and recommendations made to the Moore County Planning Board.

Brad McNeill is an extremely knowledgeable and capable member of the community who is not only involved in small business but also is very involved with the agricultural and rural interests in the county.  He has been nominated to serve on the Land Use Committee, and I hope and trust that he will be named by the Board of Commissioners to serve.  We need more folks like Brad to get involved in the governance of our county.
