We have an extraordinary opportunity to get inside the White House planning process

6/10/2017

BOTTOM LINE: If you have knowledge of specific departments, agencies or offices in the U.S. Government that you think need to be eliminated or closed, click into this Website and submit your ideas.

Technical note: To choose more than one option in a list, you will have to hold a function key (on my Mac it is the "command" key) as click offices. I recommend you test it on the first few options so you don't waste your time.

DETAILS: The Trump Administration is soliciting input from citizens about what parts of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government we want it to close or restructure. Is it just a gimmick? We don't know*, but assume it's legitimate. At the very least, it will provide the President with a survey of public opinion.

Scrolling through the lists may stagger you. With the breadth and depth of the federal (too often national) government it is no mystery why every aspect of our lives is (or is subject to) manipulation by unelected, national bureaucrats. The vastness of the structure is literally beyond the capacity of any one person to comprehend.

What are your targets? The Department of Education (aptly abbreviated "ED")? The National Labor Relations Board?  The JFK Center for the Performing Arts (yes, it's there!)? The EPA? Make your comments!

From your personal experience, do you have personal insight you can share with the White House? Then comment!

**No. MTC does not use "psychics." Lighten up!

We're seeking facts on Moore County schools funding, and tips about waste and misappropriation

5/9/2017

Amid all the accusations, innuendo and strong emotions, we want to get to the bottom of things and know what's really going on. We heard one thing in the Zumwalt Zone (Quis) and read something else in the Haymaker [Moore County: Saul Alinsky. Screaming Mommies. School funding. (And Quis is RIGHT.)].

Are Moore County Schools officials in need of money or are they misappropriating/mismanaging what they have?

If you have a usable information, put it in the "Comments" section, or send it to MooreTeaCitizens@Gmail.com if you desire confidentiality.

Is the HB2 "Repeal" Bad Legislation?

3/31/2017

(Submitted by Rational Thinker)

Liberty. The practical meaning of the word is that you don't have to like me or what I choose to do with my property (which includes my body, thoughts, money, business, etc.), you just may not infringe on my rights; you may not dictate to me what I shall and shall not do with my property.* You may not dictate what I eat, what sex I think I am, my religious beliefs, and an almost endless list of other personal, adult decisions I make for and about myself. By extension, neither does the government that represents you.

This newest iteration of the "Bathroom Bill" still protects private citizens from the dictates of local governments as to whom may use their restrooms, changing rooms and showers. This was always the fly in the soup. Charlotte's ordinance dictated to private citizens that they must open their facilities to anyone "identifying" as a particular "gender," regardless of the sex organs they actually have. Some believe the General Assembly should have left the matter to the courts, but as this was a clear, unmitigated violation of private property rights, I don't believe the citizens of Charlotte should be forced to "fight city hall" and incur the huge legal bills that would necessarily generate. Sparring citizens from that was an appropriate and good use of state legislative power. After all, the primary responsibility of elected officials is protect the rights of citizens. That is the standard, not whether you can afford to go to and win in court.

This seems clear but if you disagree I urge you to explain your thinking in the "Comments" section.

Do We Need To Reinstate A Teaching Grant?

3/12/2017

What do you think? This is unquestionably another consequence of the government running schools, but is this plan a proper way for the NCGA to deal with this particular problem? Read the story and decide for yourself.
