In keeping with this, MTC's position is this: the Charlotte ordinance was not only questionable from the standpoint of potentially facilitating abuse by non-transsexuals, but it was flatly unnecessary. Transsexuals, for decades, have been using the facilities of their choosing. The Charlotte ordinance was a thinly disguised political move designed to erode the existing culture. The NCGA did the right thing by passing HB2. It did NOT codify abusive "discrimination" or abridge the liberty of any NC citizen (READ IT yourself; it's short). In fact, we have found that virtually all the criticisms are hyperbolic or fabricated—including the conflation of transsexualism with homosexuality—and are designed to forward a Politically Correct, Collectivist agenda.
Enter PayPal; uninvited, inappropriate, obtrusive and bullying. It's decision to weigh in was cynical, PC pandering to the Left. It's executives either didn't read HB2 or blatantly lied in their news releases. Consequently, Moore Tea Citizens will find another company to replace PayPal on our Donation page. Further, we encourage our subscribers and others who value the Rule of Law to cancel their PayPal accounts AND encourage businesses they personally patronize—and which use PayPal—to do the same.
After our volunteers have had the opportunity to research alternatives, we will publish the results for your consideration and reference.
